Honey Citron Tea at Costco

This marmalade-type product intrigued me- honey citron tea? And it does make an excellent marmalade, but our favorite use is citron tea. A teaspoon in a small cup or 2 teaspoons in a large mug make a soothing hot drink, great for colds or late nights when a caffeine drink might be too much.

Citron is an Asian fruit, similar to a lemon, but less acidic. First ingredient in the tea  is citron (75%), but no actual "tea" appears in the ingredient list.

I paid $5.99 for 1kg (2.2 lbs).

    1. Does anyone know the water to honey citron tea ratio? The label has some erroneous info. 0.02 gallons of water to 2-3 tspns of honey citron tea!!!

  3. I bought several jars, and now have 1/2 in the fridge and one unopened in the cabinet. They haven't carried it since the end of August.

I called Costco with the item number and was told it "may" be an availability issue from Balance Grow. However the rep emphasized that by putting it in as a suggestion customers can influence whether it is carried again. Worth a try.

This is an excellent product that seems to carry some healthful benefits. I hope they get it in again.

  4. Yep. They don't seem to carry it anymore. The $25 stuff on Amazon and elsewhere are not as good. This product says 75% citron and 25% honey. If anyone finds it anywhere, please let us know.

  7. I asked the cashier at Costco today when I couldn't find it and she said they don't carry at store anymore. Last week inventory was marked down to $1.00!!! What a shame!

  13. This is one of the best products that I have found in months! I use it in frostings, on yogurt, ice-cream topping, stir it into fudge and brownies. The list of uses for this product is endless. They do have it back on the shelves at our Knoxville Costco. (It's also great in hot cocoa, so I guess the tea thing could be good, but the sauce aspects of it are excellent!

  14. I just bought this for the first time at the Knoxville Costco. It looked interesting so I picked it up. The girls at the register said people buy it all the time. Just tried it with hot water and it is absolutely delightful.
