Random Costco News: Australia, POS, and August Sales

Costco is undergoing major expansion in Australia.  A link to the details:

Costco Gets the Nod for National Australian Expansion


POS means something different in the Information Technology world - point of sale. Point of Sale technology is how people buy things.  The Costco website will sell mobile Point of Sale technology, such as credit card readers, for Apple products.  Retailers that use iPads and and iPhones in sales transactions will be able to buy the Point of Sale technology from Costco on-line. Here's a link to more info.

Costco August Sales

Costco sales were ahead of analyst's predictions; same store sales rose 7% in August; analysts' predictions had been 3.8%. Here's the link from Reuters.
